Vacancy – ACTIVE SCHOOLS MANAGER


We are looking to recruit an Active Schools Manager to lead the well-established Rural Derbyshire School Sport Partnership (SSP), in the delivery of the School Games programme in line with the new Sport England Strategy and other programmes linked to the role.  

This exciting role requires candidates to have the desire and commitment to improve the lives of children and young people by encouraging them to participate in regular, safe, inclusive, fun and appropriate sports and physical activity through events, festivals and competitions. 

As strategic lead, the Active Schools Manager works collaboratively with many key partners including: Active Derbyshire, Derbyshire Active Schools Network, Derbyshire Dales District Council, The FA, Bikeability Trust and the Youth Sport Trust. 

The successful applicant would be based in specialist office accommodation at Anthony Gell School and will be employed by the school.  Candidates should have proven project management skills, good communication skills, excellent relationship skills, ability to work in partnership and experience of engaging with children and young people through sport and physical activity. 

Shortlisted candidates will be notified by Friday 10 September 2021.  You should assume that you have not been shortlisted if you have not heard from the school by this date.
