Queen Elizabeth’s Grammar School is a mixed 11 – 18 comprehensive school that has been established since 1585. Linked to the school is a large family of primary schools which make up the Queen Elizabeth’s Family Cluster. In fact the school has the largest primary school cluster in the county with 15 primary schools and 2 infant schools covering a wide geographical area in and around Ashbourne.
QEGS have a strong sporting tradition and this is also being encouraged and developed within the primary schools. Over the years there has been a noticeable increase in the number of primary schools entering festivals and tournaments which have been organised for numerous sports. Pupils at Queen Elizabeth’s have supported these events by assisting and officiating.
