Jayne Allen, who went down to the Houses of Parliament yesterday for the awards ceremony, said:  “It was a beautiful, sunny day in Westminster with a buffet tea on the terrace overlooking the Thames.”

“Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson talked about the progress of Sports Leaders UK to around 100 guests including teachers, sponsors and youth workers.  Sports Leaders UK Chief Executive Linda Plowright made the announcement of Academy Of The Year award which went to Newark.  Though it wasn’t a a glorious winning ending to our day, I’m immensely proud that Highfields made the shortlist and am confident of a bright future for next year.”
